Portfolio managers

As a member of the firm’s Capital Appreciation team, Noman Ali, CFA, is responsible for managing Canadian and North American growth equity mandates. Previously, he worked on Manulife Investment Management’s U.S. equity team, where he was responsible for large-, mid-, and small-cap U.S. equity mandates for clients worldwide. Prior to joining the firm, Noman was head of research at AKD Securities in his native Pakistan. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. 

Susan Curry is head of developed market equity at Manulife Investment Management and Co-head of the Capital Appreciation team. As Head of Developed Market Equity, she oversees our US- and Canadian-based investment teams, as well as our Japan Equity team, and is responsible for oversight of investment performance and process execution. She is also the lead portfolio manager of the financial industries strategy, and a portfolio manager of the bank opportunities and balanced strategies. In addition to her portfolio management responsibilities, she provides fundamental research on the financial sector for all diversified and thematic-based strategies managed by the Capital Appreciation team. Prior to joining the firm as an investment analyst, Susan worked as a portfolio officer for Manulife’s private client group. She began her career at Fidelity Investments, where she served as a research analysts. 

Susan has a B.A., Economics from University of Massachusetts and a M.S., Finance from Brandeis University.
